The Wedding Filmmaker Trap
And how to avoid it when you're building your business.
As you’re reading this, we’re currently on a plane to Greece.
We’re heading to film a wedding at the Four Seasons in Athens, which is a bucket list destination for us. (pics coming next week)
But I want to dispel a myth right now:
You don’t need to travel to be a successful wedding filmmaker.
If you’ve been filming weddings for less than three years, you might have the travel bug.
You see other filmmakers in Italy, Iceland, and Bali
Posting the most gorgeous content you’ve ever seen.
But behind the scenes, most of them are actually losing money.
After flights, rental cars, hotels, meals, and—most importantly—your time, you’re often earning less than you would for a local gig.
And no one talks about it.
So what does it all mean?
Your goal isn’t to be busy. It’s to be profitable.
And to get there, you need a strong foundation. Without it, you’re just building a glorified side hustle.
That’s why we created The Beginner’s Guide to Wedding Videography
It’s for filmmakers who want to build the right way from Day 1.
Inside, we break down gear, storytelling, pricing, editing, and how to book your first high-value clients, without wasting time or money chasing the wrong things.
And this week it is on sale for 60% Off for The Runaway Club members 👇🏼

P.S. Any places/restaurants we MUST visit while we are in Athens and Santorini?
