Why this couple didn't choose the "best reel"
How one line on a consult call helped us refine our brand, and how you can as well.
Last week, we filmed our second highest-paid wedding to date.
And the best part?
It was local to us, right in beautiful Park City, Utah.
It was a 3-day, same-sex Jewish wedding with guests flying in from Chicago to celebrate.
Everything about it was premium. The details, the design, the guests.
But we didn’t get booked for this wedding by accident. Something happenend for the first time ever that has since helped us refine our brand.
On the consultation call, one of the brides said something that made us really think:
“We’ve talked to other videographers… but we want to go with you because you’re both lead shooters.”
That’s when it clicked for us.
One of our biggest advantages as Runaway Vows is the fact that we are two lead shooters. Not a lead and a second. Not a primary and an assistant.
And for this couple, especially with it being a same-sex wedding, that really mattered to them.
They didn’t want one of them getting the “less experienced” shooter. They wanted equal treatment.
And that is our unique selling point that we offer. And we have since leaned into it hard.
Most filmmakers forget to spotlight what makes them truly different. But your next $7K+ booking might hinge on it.
Figuring out what makes you unique is one of the most important things you can do for your brand. Once you find it, everything sharpens: your messaging, your confidence, and your ability to attract clients who actually want what you have to offer.
So today, we’re doing something a little different…
We’re giving you a FREE Mini Brand Audit.
Take 10 quiet minutes to sit down, tune out the noise, and fill it out.
At the end of the PDF, you’ll find an invitation to email us your answers.
We’ll personally review them and help you identify what to lean into, and how to position it for premium clients.
This is 100% free. No pitch. Just value.
Let’s sharpen your brand.
Talk soon Runaways,
Nate
