The Tripod We Wish We Had Years Ago— New YouTube Video 📸

We just added a new tripod to our toolkit, and we are in love.

Is This The Best Tripod For Wedding Filmmakers?

After an unfortunate experience at a wedding, we decided it was time to switch our tripod setup for something a little more durable.

Top of the week Runaways,

Roughly a month ago, we had an experience at a wedding that was the last straw for us using small, lightweight tripods.

The wedding ceremony was inside, and so we didn’t think anything of it.

But boy were we wrong.

Turns out, there were wooden floors, and every time someone walked around, our cameras would shake.

Lucky for us, it wasn’t too extreme, but it was enough for the bride to notice it and ask for some tweaks in the ceremony edit.

And that is a little embarrassing, wouldn’t you say?

So we decided we are going to be more intentional about our tripod use.

And if you know me, I have never been much of a gear nerd.

Both Jake and I firmly believe that in todays age, pretty much any camera, lens, or piece of gear will get the job just fine.

What’s more important is your skill and how you use them.

(which is exactly what we teach in Beginner’s Guide to Wedding Videography)

So we decided to test out a completely new tripod.

We just dropped a new video on YouTube about the Pineta Peak 75, and I gotta be honest—I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I do.

But after using it a little bit more, I think this might be our new go-to.

It’s lightweight for its size, super solid, and actually designed for how we shoot..

I made this video because I know how frustrating it is to waste money on gear that doesn’t stand the test of time. If you’re in the market for a new tripod (or just curious if this one’s worth it), check it out here.

I would love to hear what you think—just hit reply and we will have a nice chat.

Best,

Nate
