HOW-TO
Why Intentional Lighting Matters
Whether you film weddings, products, or your cat at home, good lighting should always be at the top of your priority list. In our past course videos we have said that no amount of bad footage can make up for poor audio. Likewise, stunning compositions cannot make up for bad lighting.
But here is the thing. Audio is somewhat easy to know when it sounds good (not to knock you audio engineers, you know what I mean). Yes there are fine-details when it comes to audio, but in general, if it sounds good with no hissing or cracking or popping, you know that you got clean audio that is usable.
When it comes to lighitng, it’s not so simple. Different times of day call for different tones of light. Different emotions call for different patterns of light on a subjects face. Choosing HOW you light a subject is more important than the type of lights that you have.
So that is why we included this masterclass in our entire course bundle: Wedding Videography: Year One

Our Thoughts On Sepia Gate
If you haven’t been on social media recently, let us catch you up on most recent story to divide the wedding industry: Sepia Gate.
In a nutshell, a bride hired a photographer who had a very unique style that cna be characterized as a brownish yellow hue that looks similar to a sepia overlay. The wedding was beautiful, the weather cooperated, and everything was a fairy tale
Except for the photo gallery when it was delivered.
When the bride got her photos back, she was in horror at the coloring of the photos. After 7 months of communication with the photogpraher to try and get the raw images, the bride took to Tik Tok to blast the photographer.
And from there, the rest is history. We have Team Bride vs. Team Photographer.
On last weeks podcast, we discuss our thoughts on this, and things you should consider if you are hring vendors for your wedding.
